Ava Mural Project 2009- "Lessons Learned"

Project Description: Artist in Residence Michael McClure (Willow Springs, MO) worked together with Ava High School art teacher Sarah Lemons and her advanced art students to create a mural based on the theme "Lessons Learned." Students were assigned to interview elders from their community and ask them to tell about some lesson they had learned in their life. The students then interpreted these stories in paint on 4x4' panels. These panels were assembled on the south wall of Jean's Healthway Natural Foods, on the square in Ava, MO. The project received support from Scroll Compressors of Ava.
