karst in the ozarks

"Karst Rock Detective" Lesson

For this lab activity, students will be asked to bring an Ozark rock from home or nearby. They will conduct basic tests and use a simple rock lab chart to identify four common Ozark rocks: limestone, dolomite, chert, and sandstone. Students will graph the lab results and may draw conclusions about the makeup of surface rocks in the Ozarks.
