The Missouri River is the largest watershed in the Mississippi River Basin, covering part or all of 10 states.

The term 'basin' is used for the land area drained by a major river. River basins are watersheds, and they contain many watersheds within them.

This project was developed with funding from the University of Missouri Extension and in collaboration with the South Missouri Water Quality Project of the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).
