Little Pine Creek
Location
The Little Pine Creek watershed is directly east of Gainesville. Water
runs east off Highway 181, north off Highway 160, and south off county
roads 181-310 and 312.
Communities
Gainesville is on the west side of the watershed, Hardenville is to the
south.
Roads: County roads 160-301 and 160-305 cross the
creek.
Watershed Size: About 14 square miles.
Topography
Elevation varies from 1080 feet above sea level near the Gainesville Airport
to 600 feet at the confluence with Bryant Creek. Maximum relief is 480
feet.
Stream Flow
According to the topographic maps Little Pine Creek flows perennially
for about 4 miles.
Landscape & Special Features
Much of the watershed has fairly steep slopes. There are large areas of
pasture in the upper reaches. Much of the area around the creek is wooded.
