Mark Twain National Forest covers about half the North Fork watershed and includes natural areas like this one, part of Noblett Lake Recreation Area.

Carman Springs Natural Area contains outstanding creeks, including the headwaters of Noblett and Spring Creek, with bottomlands, cliffs and upland forests. The area supports several rare species of wildflowers. The photo at right is of Upper Noblett Creek.
