My New School
by Kayla

My name is Kayla, and I am going to school in a new district. The year is 1957. My old school was a little wooden school.

My new school is really different from my old school. My new school's name is Reorganized No. 5. I see Mr. Decker. He is my principal. He teaches the seventh and eighth grade classroom. Mr. Decker is also our coach. I see him every day at lunch. Do you want to know what I had for lunch today? I had green beans. Do you want to know what I had for lunch yesterday? I had green beans. Do you want to know what I'm going to have for lunch tomorrow? I'm going to have green beans! We have green beans every day! I'm getting sick of green beans!

In my new school the teacher has to sweep their own classroom. When they are done, they sweep the dust into the hallway for the janitor to throw away. The janitor's name is Homer Richards. Sometimes he picks me to help him. We have fun doing it together. Sometimes he tells me a story. We laugh and laugh.

When the day ends, I go home. I have dinner. After dinner I go to bed. The next day I take some time from getting ready to talk to my mom and dad. While I'm in school my mom and dad go to work. They get paid once a month. After we visit I go back to school.

My New School

My name is Curtis, and I am going to school in a new district. The year is 1957. My principal is Jim Decker. He picked me to help sweep the dirt into the hallway for Mr. Richards. Mr. Richards sweeps it up and puts the dirt in the trash can.

I eat green beans for lunch every day here. There are four rooms in our school. When I went to school at Olden we would go outside to eat lunch. We played outside when we were eating our lunch. I am in the third and fourth grade classroom. I see Mr. Decker every day in the lunch room. Every single day, I see Mr. Decker.

My school is made of rock. We have one yellow school bus. The name of my school is Reorganized No. 5. This is my lunch paper that tells me what I am having for lunch, "Green beans, green beans, green beans, green beans...."
