We had to drink out of the same dipper and the same water bucket. We had to eat our lunch outside every day. My school was called Lone Pine, and I really liked my old school.

My new school has two rooms. On the outside of my new school there are rocks, big and little. Mrs. Hunter is nice. She always tells us that she is glad she has us. Mr. Edwards is the other teacher.

Our school is called Consolidated Number 5. The teachers have to sweep their own classrooms. The principal is Mr. Decker. We eat green beans at our new school every day. The mothers help can the green beans, and we have to eat them or do without.

They work on wooden tables. The cook can cook well. The teachers are paid $80.00 per month. We have to pay 5 cents every day for our lunch. I walk to school with Speck Rhodes every day. I play with him every day at recess.

Mr. Jess McCrackin is president of the school board. We also have Mr. Edwards, but he is not our teacher yet. He is the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade teacher. I am in third grade. At Consolidated No. 5 you have to bring your own lunch. Consolidated No. 5 has two rooms. I love my teacher, and I can't wait to have Mr. Edwards. I think I'll like him too.
